| Recently I installed a set of SportMax 502 wheels and Falken 452 tyres. The specs are: - SportMax 502 wheels, 8.5x18 F, 9.5x18 R with an offset of 35 front and rear - Falken FK-452 245/40 ZR18 F - Falken FK-452 275/35 ZR18 R I have KYB shocks, Eibach springs, the 300 Degree chamber correction kit, and Stillen sway bars. Kind of the standard suspension upgrade that most people have. Here is a pic of member lakerdude42, who has the same wheels and tyre specs that I do: lakerdude42's car
A search shows that several members have 245/40/18 with the in front with no rubbing issues. This guy for example, who has the same offset that I do: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2066777/Just-installed-some-2454018-and-2853518.html ] This guy has the same brand wheels that I do, with the samee offset: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2085939/The-sport-maxes-will-fit-with-a-35-offset-all-around-Or.html ] Another fellow with the same tyre and wheel measurements: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/1856624/New-tires-and-wheels-for-the-Zed.html ] If the tyre and wheel measurements of those forum members are the same as mine, what other reason could there be for the rubbing in the inner fenders? Now a few people, including member "got rice?" recommend 245/35/18 tyres: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/628669/you-should-be-running-2453518s.html ] It makes sense, but I would still like to know if there is something else that could be addressed. Getting another set of front tyres is probably more expensive.
